When Dave Dickerson founded the company in 1997, he had one goal in mind: help employers find the right person for the job and help candidates find the right fit. At the time, there was a growing need from employers to build a safer hiring process, but no background screening tool existed to meet the demands of employers and candidates alike.

25 years ago, we set out on a journey to advance the background screening industry. As we celebrate more than two decades of service excellence, we’re reflecting on what we’ve learned, what’s kept us going, and what’s coming next.
What I love about Accurate is the opportunity to work for a company that prioritizes customer service and is on the cutting edge of technology. But ultimately, it’s the people. Working with the right people was important to me.
I have been in the background screening world since 2009, and I have watched Accurate for years. The leadership team is a dream team. The company is really thinking out of the box and our ability to be viewed as a strategic partner is a tremendous opportunity.
Accurate has provided the training and understanding necessary to be in the weeds and really be a successful manager … I understand the challenges and hardships that are going to be faced along the way, but also recognize that it’s those little wins that you have with customers that really stand out.
I knew nothing—nothing—about background checks. It was an eye-opener coming into the company and not realizing that you could actually go to courthouses and see peoples’ background checks.
What I love about working at Accurate is the culture. I know that sounds cliché but after being here just a few months, I really feel like I belong.
